This is why I read the New Republic

To those of you who have not read Revolutionary Road but plan to do so: Adelle Waldman's write -up on Richard Yates' classic novel might give up too much plot for your liking. For those who have read it, or for those who haven't and won't in the forseeable future: this is the best take on the novel I've seen so far, as well as a fantastic piece of writing in general.
